season of our life. Josh is enduring his last year of college. He will be graduating in May and right now he is
experiencing the worst case of senioritis. It doesn't help that he isn't particularly enjoying his classes this semester but he's working through it all with a little push from his ever-supportive wife :) I am right in the middle of my second semester of nursing school. I have also taken on another job! I am now a PCA (patient care assistant) at Cox Hospital. My first day was on Monday (Oct. 8). I actually really enjoyed it...basically all I did for 8 hours was take the patient's vitals but I was also able to witness some nursing skills such as NG tubes and a catheter being inserted. I am very excited to gain experience in the health care setting. I am working on 9-west which is a Med-Surge unit. The floor is just full of all sorts of random diagnoses which gives me even more things to learn about!
I am quickly beginning to realize that my teachers were correct when they told us not to start anything new when you're in the middle of the semester. I will be working 23 hrs/week at Cox and then 12 hrs/week at my old job as well as being a full time student and wife! I have been informed by Josh and others that I am a stress monger. Basically if I don't have stress in my life, then I create it in one form or another. I think that subconsciously I knew that starting this new job in the middle of the semester was going to be the death of me, but to be honest, I love it! Maybe that's a good sign that I'll love nursing :)
I just wanted to fill you all in on what was happening in our lives. Between work, school, birthdays, weddings, and such, there just isn't enough of me to go around! If you would all just keep me and Josh in your prayers through this busy time in our life it would be much appreciated. Hope you have a fantastic rest of the week!
